Application in modification of resin-based composite materials


(1) Modification of unsaturated polyester resin


Although resin-based composite materials have the advantages of light weight, high strength and corrosion resistance, they also have their shortcomings. For example, the hardness of the resin itself is relatively low, and the Mohs hardness is generally only about 2 (equivalent to the hardness of gypsum), and the wear resistance is also poor. If nano-SiO2 is added to the resin material, its various properties can be greatly improved. It is reported that by adding nano-SiO2 to unsaturated polyester resin, the Mohs hardness of the obtained material can be close to the hardness of natural marble (3 levels), the tensile strength is increased by more than 1 times, and the wear resistance can also be increased by 1~2 times. In addition, the surface finish is good, and the water resistance and heat resistance have been greatly improved.
