Application in catalysts and catalyst carriers
Nano-SiO2 has a large specific surface area, high porosity, and many surface active centers, and has potential application value in catalysts and catalyst carriers. Using nano-SiO2 as the basic raw material and sol-gel technology, composite oxides containing nano-SiO2 can be prepared. When this composite oxide is used as a catalyst carrier, it will show unique reaction performance for many structure-sensitive reactions. The reaction has high catalytic activity and good selectivity, and the catalytic activity can be maintained for a long time during the reaction. Researchers used ZrO2/SiO2 as a catalyst carrier to catalyze the dehydration of isopropanol. The results showed that there were few reaction by-products and high catalytic efficiency. Under optimal conditions, its selectivity can reach 100%. At present, there are many reports on the industrial production of conventional SiO2 (20~100um) as a catalyst carrier, but there are few reports on the large-scale production of nano-SiO2 in this field.
