1 Preparation technology of nano coatings


The preparation methods of nano coatings can be divided into four types: (1) sol-gel method, in which nanoparticles are generated in situ in monomer or resin solution; (2) in situ polymerization method, in which nanoparticles are directly dispersed in monomer and then polymerized to generate nano coatings; (3) blending method, in which nanoparticles are blended and composited with resin solution or emulsion; (4) intercalation method, in which monomer or polymer solution enters the inorganic nanolayer to obtain nano coatings, but this method is only suitable for layered inorganic materials such as montmorillonite. There are still many problems to be solved in the development and research of nano composite coatings, among which the most critical problem is how to ensure the effective and stable dispersion of nanoparticles in coatings. If the nanoparticles in nano coatings are not dispersed well, not only will the expected purpose not be achieved, but the stability of the coating may also be destroyed. At present, the methods for dispersing nanoparticles include electrical, chemical, chemical dispersion and physical dispersion.
