Recently, an eco-friendly radiative cooling nanocoating developed by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University has been successfully applied to multiple commercial buildings. Utilizing nanotechnology, the coating reflects solar energy as light, reducing the surface temperature of buildings by up to 25 degrees Celsius and indoor temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. This innovative solution not only decreases air conditioning usage but also lowers energy consumption and carbon emissions, supporting the green transformation of the construction industry. According to the project leader, the coating is non-toxic, durable, and customizable in various colors, making it both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Future expansion in more cities is anticipated.
