EV Rain Safety Breakthrough: Silicone Rubber Seals Combat Battery Pack "Water Ingress Crisis"

Hits: 505 img

Following multiple summer incidents of water-damaged electric vehicles, CATL has partnered with materials specialists to launch a full-silicone rubber battery sealing system. This material maintains elasticity from -40°C to 200°C with compression set under 5%, eliminating leakage risks from aged rubber. Tested battery packs showed zero water ingress after 48 hours of immersion, adding just 2% to costs. China's MIIT plans to include this technology in mandatory EV safety standards, targeting full adoption by 2025. Products-IOTA
