Solar Farms Face Heat Stress: High-Temp Silicones Shield Green Energy

Hits: 486 img

As power grids buckle under summer loads, photovoltaic (PV) silicone rubber reliability is critical. Chenhua Chemical disclosed its high-temperature vulcanized (HTV) silicone rubber – used in PV panel sealing strips and junction box encapsulation – retains elasticity at 80°C field temperatures, preventing electrical leaks from heat deformation. A breakthrough borate ester tackifier limits bond strength degradation to just 15% at 400°C, far exceeding industry standards. The National Energy Administration urges regular inspection of silicone seals to prevent cracking and fire risks after extreme sun exposure.
