China’s national urban renewal initiative is adopting silicone resin composite fire doors as safety standards tighten. Zhejiang-based SafeGuard Doors engineered door cores that expand into heat-resistant ceramic barriers (1,200°C) within seconds of fire exposure, achieving 3-hour fire ratings while being 30% lighter than steel alternatives. Over 5,000 units installed in Shanghai’s aging neighborhoods successfully contained fires in recent drills. "These doors buy critical evacuation time," confirmed Fire Chief Li Wei. Municipal authorities plan to subsidize silicone-resin doors in all public housing renovations.
