Nano is a unit of length, formerly known as "nanometer", which is 10-9 (one billionth of a meter). Nanoscience and technology, sometimes also called nanotechnology, is the study of the properties and applications of materials with structural sizes ranging from 1 nanometer to 100 nanometers.


2. What is nanomaterial?


Nanomaterial is a general term for zero-dimensional, one-dimensional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional materials with small size effects composed of ultrafine particles less than 100nm (0.1-100nm). The concept of nanomaterials was formed in the mid-1980s. Due to the special optical, electrical, magnetic, thermal, mechanical and other properties of nanomaterials, nanotechnology has rapidly penetrated into various fields of materials and has become a hot spot in world scientific research.
