Recently, a new methyl silicone resin, IOTA 950, has attracted industry attention. Unlike ordinary coatings that are easily scratched and have poor weather resistance, this product, after curing, boasts a pencil hardness of over 6H, far exceeding the common 2-3H protective layers, significantly improving its abrasion resistance.


In the electronics industry, this material is used for surface treatment of thermosetting plastics, effectively reducing flicker interference at component interfaces. Practical applications show that the transparent film formed after curing has a light transmittance exceeding 90%, far superior to the matte effect of traditional coatings. Compared to ordinary protective paints that are prone to aging in high-temperature or humid environments, this coating exhibits excellent high and low temperature resistance and waterproof performance.


Taking common everyday acrylic glass as an example, ordinary surfaces are easily scratched, but after coating with IOTA 950, scratch resistance is greatly enhanced, potentially significantly improving the durability of products such as phone cases and eyeglass lenses.


Currently, this product is transported according to hazardous materials standards and should be stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry place. Its shelf life is one year. Industry insiders point out that such high-performance coatings may bring more "hardcore" daily protection to consumer electronics and outdoor equipment.
