IOTA Silicone’s Vinyl MQ Silicone Resin: Enabling High Transparency and Weather Resistance in LED Packaging
With the rapid evolution of Mini LED displays and automotive electronics for new energy vehicles, high light transmission and reliability in packaging materials have become essential requirements. IOTA Silicone’s vinyl MQ silicone resin stands out for its 99.60% light transmittance and unique spherical molecular structure. Unlike traditional reinforcing agents that often struggle to balance transparency with mechanical performance, this product—in a 60% xylene solution—boasts 99.60% light transmittance, a low viscosity of 6.77 cSt, and a volatile content of just 0.92%. The resulting reinforced silicone rubber is colorless, offers high mechanical strength, and is suitable for long-term use across a temperature range of -30°C to 250°C.
From mobile phone screen lamination to LED automotive lighting seals, IOTA Silicone is translating laboratory performance into real-world protective solutions. Compared to standard silicone resins, this MQ resin offers superior film-forming properties, UV resistance, and corrosion resistance; it is already utilized in high-transparency silicone gels, liquid silicone rubber (LSR), and semiconductor potting applications. IOTA Silicone notes that the resin features a stable vinyl content of 2.55% and a molecular weight of 4356 Da, providing reliable reinforcement for pressure-sensitive adhesives and heat-cured rubber compounds.
