Nano ceramic coatings can be divided into two categories according to the type of materials: oxides and non-oxides:
The most widely used oxide wear-resistant coating materials are Al2O3, ZrO2, Cr2O3, etc. Among them, ZrO2 has a high melting point, low thermal conductivity, and a small thermal expansion coefficient, and is more widely used; in order to improve the inherent high brittleness, porosity, and low bonding performance of single-component oxide ceramic coatings (such as pure Al2O3, Cr2O3, etc.), low-melting-point TiO2 or SiO2 powder is usually added to form a multi-component composite powder to improve the spraying process performance of the powder and obtain a composite oxide ceramic coating with better performance.
