Application in the field of optics
Single-layer and multi-layer films synthesized from nanomaterials are mainly used as infrared reflective materials. Nanoparticle film materials have good application prospects in the light bulb industry. Since the 1980s, people have used nano-SiO2 and TiO2 to make multi-layer interference films and lined the inner wall of the light bulb cover. As a result, not only the light transmittance is good, but also the infrared reflection ability is strong. The light bulb with such multi-layer film can save 13.15% of electricity. Nanoparticles as optical fiber materials can greatly reduce the transmission loss of optical fibers. High-purity nano-SiO2 as optical fiber has a transmission loss of less than 10db/km for light with a wavelength greater than 600nm, which is many times smaller than the light transmission loss of conventional SiO2 materials.
