1. Silicon as the base material of nano coatings
Silicon-based materials are used in many nano coatings because silicon has good chemical stability and adjustability. For example:

Siloxane and silane: These compounds are often used to prepare nano coatings to form dense protective films with corrosion resistance, waterproof and anti-fouling functions.

Silicon dioxide (SiO₂) nanoparticles: Silica nanoparticles are often used as coating additives to improve the hardness, wear resistance and hydrophobicity of the coating.
