2 Current status of development and application of nano coatings and their application prospects
There are two directions for the application of nanotechnology in the field of coatings: one is to improve the performance of traditional coatings. By using the relationship between the rheology of coatings and the particle size of fillers, nanotechnology can be used to produce nano coatings with excellent construction performance. Nanoparticles have a large specific surface area and good interfacial bonding with the organic resin matrix, which can improve the strength, hardness, wear resistance, scratch resistance and other mechanical properties of the original coating. Moreover, since they are transparent to visible light, they can also ensure the transparency of the coating. This feature can be used to prepare nano coatings such as highly scratch-resistant automotive coatings and furniture coatings; the second is to prepare new functional nano coatings, such as military stealth coatings, electrostatic shielding coatings, nano antibacterial coatings, nano interface coatings, etc.
3 Modification of coatings by common nano fillers
At present, nanotechnology research is very extensive in the coatings industry. The main ones that have achieved remarkable results are nano SiO2, nano ZnO, etc., which are expected to reach the industrial level first.
