In the summer of 2023, many parts of the world encountered extreme high temperatures and heavy rainfall, and the problems of cracking and water seepage on the exterior walls of buildings intensified. In response to this pain point, many building materials companies have launched silicone resin modified protective coatings, which have weather resistance that is more than 3 times higher than traditional materials and can maintain stable performance in an environment of -50℃ to 300℃.
Silicone resin coatings form a dense mesh structure that is not only waterproof and moisture-proof, but also reflects more than 80% of ultraviolet rays, reducing building energy consumption. A renovation project of an old residential area in Shanghai showed that the indoor temperature dropped by an average of 4℃ after using this coating. Experts from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development said that such materials are in line with the "dual carbon" strategy and may be included in the green building evaluation standards in the future. At present, companies such as Oriental Yuhong have laid out production lines with an annual output of 100,000 tons.
