Part 2, giving textiles good functionality
The addition of nanoparticles can improve the performance of traditional coatings or prepare new functional nano coatings. The current research focus of nano coatings is mainly on the latter.


① Heat-insulating and cooling nano coatings


Thermal insulation textiles can effectively relieve the discomfort caused by people being exposed to continuous sunlight or high temperature for a long time, and form a good protective effect on the human body. The use of nano thermal insulation coatings to coat textiles is the most common method for preparing thermal insulation textiles. Functional nano coatings can effectively improve the thermal insulation and cooling performance of textiles.


Application case: Li Mingzhu et al. used solvent-based PA and PU glue as film-forming components, nano TiO2, phase change microcapsules, etc. as functional fillers, and added dispersants and defoamers to prepare nano composite coatings. The nano composite coating was used to coat the fabric. The obtained thermal insulation fabric was exposed to simulated summer sunlight for 120 minutes. The average temperature under the fabric surface was maintained at 23-26°C, and the maximum temperature difference reached 23°C, which met the application requirements.
